What this place is

Vigil123 is a quiet place to show up for those in need of prayer. Everything offered here is kept, and everything kept is seen — by the person a vigil watches over, the family a memorial comforts, the circle a cause gathers.

How to participate

Write as though your thoughts and prayers will be read. They will be. Every word you enter will appear in the vigil.

Be gentle with each other. People come here on hard days. No harassment, no hate, no preaching, no cruelty excused as honesty.

What’s shared here stays here. No screenshots, no retelling, no carrying news out of the circle.

A link is a trust. It opens the door for whoever holds it — pass it on with care, or let the vigil’s keeper — the person hosting it — do the inviting.

A scheduled prayer time is a plan, not a debt. If you miss yours, come when you can — every prayer counts. When possible, release a time that no longer works for you.

How to host a vigil

Hosting a vigil is a larger act than joining one.

The person who hosts a vigil is its keeper. A keeper tends a vigil rather than runs it: writing the story of why it exists, inviting the circle, opening times of prayer as needed, and watching over what people leave.

• Have the person’s blessing. Host a vigil only with permission, or a sincere, good-faith belief that it would be welcome.
• Tend the circle. What you can see of the circle is for its care, never for keeping score.
• Shepherd the vigil, not the schedule. Plans change and times get missed — meet both with understanding. Keep a vigil, not attendance.
• Protect the person it is for. Remove anything that lands wrong — or a member, when it comes to that. Removing is not an accusation; it is tending.
• Mind the photo. A photo is someone’s likeness and someone’s work — have permission for both.

When something is wrong

The keeper can remove any offering, or any member. If the keeper doesn’t act — or the keeper is the problem — write to us at info@vigil123.com. We look only to fix something broken or to answer a report of harm, never out of curiosity.
